What other diseases or sicknesses can Malachite green help with other than the ick?

I heard people using it for other conditions, what would they be?
Can i treat the fuzzy white stuff my Betta developed at the end of its tail with it?

it can treat fungal, parasitical, and bacterial illnesses in fish and fish eggs.

    Lester is thinking about methylene blue.

    Malachite Green is only moderately effective against fungal, and minimally effective against bacterial.
