Supplements do not work. The theory behind them is based on a flawed understanding of physiology and, furthermore, there are no studies showing that they increase the rate of muscle growth. Let's take glutamine for example. The average diet is well in excess of the amount of protein (including glutamine) needed for normal protein balance PLUS excess muscle growth and repair.

Yes, steroids will increase the rate of muscle growth, but possibly only as an adjunct to training (ie. you'd still need to go to the gym), but, as you say, it's a no-brainer why you shouldn't be taking them in the first place.

If you want muscle growth, go to the gym and choose weights that exhaust you after about 7-10 repetitions. If you work out hard enough (3 times a week), it will cut it.
References :
medical student and gym enthusiast

You honestly don't need all those supplements.

The only supps you need are whey protein, creatine, and a multi vitamin.

At your age, you don't have to worry about testosterone.

Just eat big and lift big. Its simple as that. You will get bigger and stronger if you eat enough to grow, and lift heavier weights
