It is most effective taking it about 30 minutes before your workout and directly after your workout.  Basically, it creates water retention in your muscles, and it speeds up recovery rate.  It is NOT steroids, don&#039;t let anyone tell you otherwise.  Creatine is found naturally in red meat, and there is nothing wrong with taking it.
